Native Dwellings

Part of the wonder of photographing the American Southwest is visiting ancient dwellings, many of which--like Mesa Verde National Park and Canyon de Chelly, Pecos, Hovenweap, Aztec, and Bandelier National Monuments--inspire awe at the resourcefulness and ingenuity of the Ancient Puebloan societies that survived and thrived in the Southwest thousands of years before European settlers arrived, creating beautiful architecture and pottery. I hope you enjoy these photographs of the most beautiful, majestic, scenic and historical wonders of the United States. Most of these locations have been set aside as National Parks, National Monuments, State Parks, Wilderness Areas or other protected designations to preserve their scenic beauty for generations to come.
