Ancestral Puebloan ruins, the ancient remains of a ceremonial kiva, and the shadow of a cottonwood tree projected by a setting sun on a thousand year old adobe wall. The shadow on the wall drew me in, and I knew I had to make this photograph. Shadows of the past. Shadows of human life before our time. Ancient Paleoindian explorers who migrated to the Bering Land Bridge from Asia and, thousands of years later, into the Americas.
